Churro Bites

Small pieces of pastry air fried and rolled in cinnamon sugar. Serve with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup (plus one tablespoon) unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. 1 In a pan add water, butter, salt and sugar. Bring it to boil over high heat.
  2. 2 Reduce the heat and add in the flour gradually, mix until the dough comes together. Switch off the flame.
  3. 3 Remove the dough from the pan into a large mixing bowl and allow it to cool down for 4-5 minutes.
  4. 4 Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix everything together with an electric hand mixer.
  5. 5 Transfer the mixture into a piping bag. Pre-heat the air fryer to 375°F. Spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  6. 6 Pipe bite-shaped churros into the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook in several batches as needed.
  7. 7 Brush some butter on top of the churros and cook for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. In a shallow bowl mix together sugar and cinnamon.
  8. 8 Once the churros are done, transfer them into the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss to coat evenly.
  9. 9 Serve with chocolate syrup, honey or Nutella.
