Churro Bites

Small pieces of pastry air fried and rolled in cinnamon sugar. Serve with chocolate sauce for dipping.
Ingredients
- • 1 cup all purpose flour
- • 1 cup water
- • 1/3 cup (plus one tablespoon) unsalted butter
- • 1 teaspoon salt
- • 2 tablespoons sugar
- • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- • 1 large egg
- • 1 cup granulated sugar
- • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- 1 In a pan add water, butter, salt and sugar. Bring it to boil over high heat.
- 2 Reduce the heat and add in the flour gradually, mix until the dough comes together. Switch off the flame.
- 3 Remove the dough from the pan into a large mixing bowl and allow it to cool down for 4-5 minutes.
- 4 Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix everything together with an electric hand mixer.
- 5 Transfer the mixture into a piping bag. Pre-heat the air fryer to 375°F. Spray the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
- 6 Pipe bite-shaped churros into the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook in several batches as needed.
- 7 Brush some butter on top of the churros and cook for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. In a shallow bowl mix together sugar and cinnamon.
- 8 Once the churros are done, transfer them into the cinnamon sugar mixture and toss to coat evenly.
- 9 Serve with chocolate syrup, honey or Nutella.
